Term 4 is well and truly underway, and it is sure to be a busy one for Bayside BMX!

New shade structure

We have kicked things off with the installation of a new shade structure next to the canteen to help keep things a bit cooler for our canteen volunteers and spectators. Thanks very much to Thorline Shade Structures for the installation!

Starting on the 9th of October, Bayside BMX is participating in AusBike, which is a prgram designed for kids aged 5 -12. AusBike is here to get kids back on their bikes. They’ll learn about road safety, build essential life skills, and have a whole lot of fun. The sessions are run by accredited coaches and are not on the BMX track, but on the grassy area nearby. Summer adventures await!

Term 4 club racing

Club racing started for the term on 8 October (see photos below). As usual, everyone had lots of fun.

The club is fortunate to have a new sponsor on board in Fallon Solutions. Each club race day an age class will be selected for a holeshot prize – the first rider into the first corner on the final race gets the holeshot prize. This week it was the 9 boys with Max Stevenson taking home the prize!

Racing is every second Sunday until the end of term. Practice starts at 3pm, noms are due by 3.30pm (if you are going to arrive after 3.30 please message the club’s Facebook page), and racing starts at 4pm.

Other term 4 events

There’s plenty more going on in term 4. We

  • We will be at the Lota State School fete on Saturday 14 October.
  • We will also be participating in the Wynnum Halloween Parade, which will be along Bay Terrace at 6pm.
  • Finally, later in the term will be the club Christmas Party and Annual General Meeting.

Here are a selection of images taken on our first club race day of term 4. Well done to all riders and a big thank you to our volunteers and supporters!
